Joan Ballweg Leadership Scholarship Recipients Announced

BALLWEG ANNOUNCES 2008 JOAN BALLWEG LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

Markesan, W.I. –  This month, five high school seniors in Wisconsin’s 41st assembly district were honored as 2008 Joan Ballweg Leadership Scholarship recipients, including Katie Doro of Princeton High School, Jared Stillman of Weyauwega-Fremont High School, Anna Jankowski of Ripon High School, Ben Hinton of Berlin High School and Kim Krueger of Markesan High School.

“I am pleased to honor and reward such talented and dedicated students from the 41st District,” said Representative Joan Ballweg, sponsor of the scholarship.  “The leadership skills these students have developed in high school will continue to be refined in college and will be of great benefit to their future employers and the communities in which they choose to live.”

The Joan Ballweg Leadership Scholarship was established in April 2005 and has been awarded to twenty one students.  Scholarships are awarded to high school seniors who demonstrate balance in their activities, achieve good grades, are good role models and are leaders among their peers.

“All of the talented and dedicated students who applied for the 2008 scholarship should be delighted with their achievements.  I also wish to congratulate and thank the parents and teachers who helped all of this year’s graduates achieve success,” Ballweg added.
