The “Friend of Grocers” award is given to legislators who score highly on the WGA’s Legislative Report Card – an extensive study of all legislators’ performance in the most recent legislative session. Lawmakers are graded according to their actions on certain issues that are especially important to the grocery industry.
“Representative Ballweg has defined herself within the Legislature as credible, thoughtful and hard-working”, said Michelle Kussow WGA’s VP of Government Affairs and Communications. She is one of the few legislators that owns and runs a business and that experience is invaluable. She has become one of the go-to legislators for that reason.”
The award will be presented to Representative Ballweg by WGA’s President and CEO Brandon Scholz and the store owner, Rob Webster. Members of the media are invited and encouraged to attend.
